Author Kevin Lovegreen came all the way from Minnesota to visit our students at PBES. We got to learn about all the different people it takes to make a book (author, illustrator, editor, designer) and how he comes up with the ideas for his books. He also brought lots of animal calls and showed us how he uses them and videos of the animals making their sounds. It was an amazing experience and now the kids are so excited to read all of his books! We have a set in the library, but if you'd like to order them for home, visit www.kevinlovegreen.com and use code PineButte15 for 15% off.
Our 1st Annual Pine Butte Parade (inspired by the Macy's Day Parade) was a huge success. I am so proud of all the hard work every single 5th grader put into this collaborative STEM project they were challenged with.
